| CPU TECH Wins Navy Contract to Model System
PLEASANTON, California - CPU Technology, Inc. has received a contract from the U.S. Navy's EA-6B Program Management Activity (PMA-234). CPU Tech will use its virtual system modeling technology--SystemLab™--to create a fully-operational, clock-cycle accurate model of the Navy's new AN/AYK-14 Type 11 Chassis airborne computer system. The model will be delivered to the Navy's Electronic Warfare Systems Lab at Pt. Mugu, California, where it will be used by Navy and contractor engineers for software and system develoopment, test and debug, optimization, software maintenance, and life-cycle support. The EA-6B 'Prowler' is the Navy's principal carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft. Significant new capabilities are being added to the plane to increase its mission effectiveness. U.S. Air Force flight crews are also being trained to operate the aircraft as EF-111 missions are assumed by the EA-6B in support of the DOD's Expeditionary Forces. The PMA-234 Program Office stated, "We view this contract as the first step into the modeling and simulation of virtual systems to reduce life-cycle cost, software development and obsolescence risk reduction on the Block 89A aircraft".
