PLEASANTON, California -- CPU Technology, Inc. has announced that National Semiconductor Corporation has acquired a multi-million dollar license for CPU Technology's verification software called Behavioral Verification Technology™ (BVT). National is incorporating BVT into the development cycle of its embedded processors, where it will provide a significant enhancement to its existing development tools.

Used to conform compatibility with a specification or industry standard, BVT automatically checks test results against expected results. "BVT is easier to use than other suites I have used in the past", said Dudley Warner, National Semiconductor validation engineer. "In addition, I am able to find differences and make any necessary fixes much faster than with other methods. The fact that these suites have been used on many programs over several years provides value because I know maximum coverage is being provided." BVT can be used pre- and post-silicon. It can be applied to any processor, software or system with defined specifications and measurable results.
