The Acalis CPU872 is the first member of CPU Tech's Acalis family of secure processors that provide unique and unprecedented protection for software and systems. The CPU872 was developed after many years of expert experience in government-contracted work. The CPU872 incorporates two PowerPC® 440 programmable processors in an industry-leading power-efficient integrated circuit. Critical software IP may be run on the processors or the Acalis device can be used to protect software running on other processors in the system.

1. Supports standard and proprietary encryption
2. All critical program information stored in eDRAM or encrypted off-chip memory
3. Firewall protects CPU B from non-trusted code on CPU A
4. Zeroization activated by off-chip sensors.
Central to secure processing is ensuring that no Trojan Horse or other malicious circuit has been inserted into the chip during any phase of design or fabrication. The CPU872 was designed using CPU Tech and IBM trusted tools. It is fabricated at IBM's East Fishkill Trusted Foundry under the auspices of the DoD/NSA sponsored Trusted Access Program Office (TAPO) the best protection available against malicious insertion in hardware designs.
